Frequent questions

What are your key criteria when initially evaluating a company?

We zero in on early-stage software and deep-tech companies that are non-US based. Crucially, we prioritize founders with a profound grasp of the industry they're addressing. Typically, our most successful ventures have founders with firsthand experience in the problems they aim to solve and an intimate knowledge of their target customers.

Are there any verticals or types of companies that you avoid?

We steer clear of investments in Crypto, web3, and AR/VR projects.

At what stage do you typically make your initial investment?

Our sweet spot lies in Seed, Seed+, and Series A rounds. While we seldom invest pre-product, we're open to pre-revenue opportunities, especially if there's a tangible product backed by an early-access customers.

Do you have a geographic focus?

Our gaze extends to any region where English is spoken.

Do you lead rounds?

Certainly, we can take the lead. However, we often prefer to collaborate with in-market partners for co-leading opportunities.

How much do you typically invest?

Our initial investments hover between $500K – $2.5M for Seed and Seed+ stages, and $3M – $4M for Series A rounds. We're also committed to reserving a sizable portion for follow-on investments in subsequent rounds.

What is your investment process like?

Our approach is streamlined. Following a preliminary discussion with our Managing Director, promising ventures progress to a meeting with our broader team. This expedites alignment on potential collaboration. From there, our focus shifts to market analysis and customer feedback. We endeavor to develop a granular understanding of the revenue potential of your technology, scrutinizing your go-to-market strategy.

How involved do you get with your portfolio companies after you invest?

Our involvement varies according to founder preferences. We're flexible in our approach, aligning our involvement with the needs of the founders. Frequently, we play an active role in guiding the transition from technology to a scalable, investable business model. At our core we are interventionalists, meaning we believe that outcomes are better if we are involved.

We pride ourselves on being founder-centric. We understand the challenges founders face and act as candid sounding boards, unafraid to engage in rigorous discussions. Our unique strength lies in our ability to merge technical prowess with astute investment strategies, ensuring that businesses capitalize on emerging market trends and potential breakthroughs from their inception.
